Tips for drinking water

  1. The amount of drinking water people consume per day depends on their age, weight, and daily activity. People say you need at least 8 cups a day, and this is somewhat true! However, men and women have different average needs:

  • For Men: ~3.7 liters (about 15.5 cups) per day.

  • For Women: ~2.7 liters (about 11.5 cups) per day.
(Pro Tip: About 20% of this usually comes from food!)

2. Not all hydration comes from a glass. Incorporate high-water-content foods into your meals:

  • Cucumber

  • Watermelon

  • Celery

  • Zucchini & Bell Peppers

3. Drink water first thing in the morning! Doing this will kick start your motabolism for the rest of the day.

4. If plain water bores you, skip the sugary powders. Infuse a pitcher with lemon slices, fresh mint, cucumber, or berries. It adds zero calories and makes hydration enjoyable.

5. Invest in a large, reusable 1-liter or 1-gallon bottle with time markers on the side (e.g., "Drink by 10 AM", "Drink by 2 PM"). This turns hydration into a visual game.

6. Thirst means you are already slightly dehydrated. Drink 17–20 ounces of water about 2 hours before a workout, and sip every 15–20 minutes during the activity.
